Steve McNair will go down in history as one of the toughest men to play football in the NFL… a sport that, by it’s very definition, requires a level of toughness the average person couldn’t imagine. Being a girl, that is especially true for me. But I grew up watching and loving the sport, and admiring those who were able to take the nastiest of licks and get back up for more. And that to a “T” was SteveMcNair.

Webster's definition of "tough" simply had this picture

Coming out of Alcorn State, many felt he would never make it in the NFL. Not only did he prove them wrong, he was selected to three Pro Bowls, Shared an MVP with Payton Manning, and engineered one of the greatest “almost” comebacks in Super Bowl history. He was a warrior, an incredibly skilled passer and runner, and a truly beloved figure in both Tennessee and across the nation.

Over the next few days there will be all kinds of information coming out concering the circumstances surrounding his death… like who was the woman that was murdered along with him and why was she with him in his downtown Nashville apartment? My heart goes out to his wife… not only does she have to deal with the death of her husband and the father of their children, but will forever be tormented with the same questions I just posed.

But for now, let’s remember him for the way he played the game.
We’ll miss you Steve… more then you could ever know.
