“Nails” gets nailed!

Remember the first HBO Real Sports that showcased “Nails” as some financial genius? Watching Dykstra show Bernard Goldberg around his car wash… where the level of service ranged from single, double, triple, home run to grand slam for the works… I found myself saying “People really give this guy money? Amazing!”

Looking back over HBO’s website for that Real Sports episode, it describes Nails as the most unlikely of moguls. They couldn’t have been more right. Now, as Dykstra files for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection, I can’t help but think of him as just plain Lenny… you know, like big, dumb Lenny from “Of Mice and Men”… or “Laverne and Shirley.”
